Abdominal Ultrasound : Our abdominal ultrasound service provides real-time visualization of internal organs, allowing dynamic assessment of structure, blood flow, and pathology without invasive surgery.

This is ideal for patients presenting with vomiting, weight loss, urinary issues, abdominal pain, distension, or chronic illness.

Ultrasound allows evaluation of:

  • Liver, gallbladder, spleen, pancreas, stomach & intestines
  • Kidneys and urinary bladder (stones, crystals, cystitis, chronic kidney changes)
  • Adrenal glands & lymph nodes
  • Reproductive structures (pyometra, pregnancy staging, ovarian/testicular abnormalities)
  • Fluid accumulation (effusion, hemoabdomen, uroabdomen)
  • Masses, cysts, abscesses, foreign material
  • GI motility and obstruction patterns

Ultrasound-guided procedures available:

  • Fine-needle aspirates (FNA)
  • Cystocentesis
  • Abdominal fluid/effusion sampling

Thoracic Ultrasound / Focused Lung & Cardiac Assessment

Thoracic ultrasonography provides detailed visualization of cardiac structure and pleural/mediastinal space, allowing assessment of respiratory and cardiovascular disease.

Uses include evaluation of:

  • Pleural effusion & pulmonary patterns
  • Masses, nodules, soft tissue irregularities
  • Heart chamber size and functionality screening
  • Pericardial/pleural fluid detection
  • Diaphragm integrity
  • Lung consolidation vs atelectasis
  • Guided thoracocentesis when indicated

Can be used in combination with thoracic radiographs for comprehensive interpretation in respiratory distress or trauma patients.

Complete Radiology (Full-Body Digital X-Ray)

Our hospital is equipped with advanced digital radiography that produces high-resolution images within seconds. Digital films can be manipulated for contrast and clarity, improving diagnostic precision and reducing retakes.

Common uses:

  • Trauma/fractures, luxations, orthopedic injury
  • Thoracic evaluation (pneumonia, cardiomegaly, airway disease, pulmonary patterns)
  • Abdominal assessment (obstruction, foreign body, gas, bladder stones)
  • Mass or organ enlargement
  • Spinal disease, IVDD screening
  • Neoplastic vs inflammatory patterns
  • Foreign object identification
  • Gastrointestinal dilation/volvulus suspicion

Radiologist consultation available for complex cases or second-opinion review.

Dental Radiography

Dental disease cannot be fully assessed by visual exam alone—radiographs are essential for evaluating root health, periodontal bone, and pathology hidden below the gumline.

Dental X-rays are used for:

  • Tooth resorption and root pathology
  • Periodontal disease staging
  • Fractured teeth & pulp exposure
  • Retained deciduous teeth
  • Oral masses and jaw bone changes
  • Endodontic disease, abscesses
  • Pre-surgical tooth extraction mapping
  • Feline resorptive lesions & chronic gingivostomatitis cases

Radiographs are taken intra-operatively to guide extractions and confirm complete root removal, minimizing complications and improving long-term oral health.

Contrast Radiology Studies

Contrast studies enhance visualization of hollow organs and complex internal structures when standard imaging is inconclusive.

Capabilities include:

  • Positive contrast GI study (barium/iodine)
  • Esophagram for dysphagia, strictures, megaesophagus
  • Upper & lower GI contrast passage studies for obstruction or motility disorders
  • Cystourethrogram for urinary stones, urethral disease, bladder wall abnormalities
  • IV pyelogram for renal/ureteral evaluation
  • Fistulogram & sinus tract mapping

Indications:

  • Suspected GI obstruction with unclear X-ray findings
  • Chronic vomiting/regurgitation
  • Suspected urinary tract blockage or ectopic ureters
  • Trauma with suspected leakage or perforation

Contrast imaging improves diagnostic certainty before surgical intervention or advanced referral.

Why On-Site Imaging Matters

Having ultrasound and radiology available in-clinic means:

  • Immediate answers during urgent visits
  • Same-day diagnosis in most cases
  • Faster medical decisions and improved outcomes
  • Reduced stress—no external referral required first
  • Ability to monitor progression or treatment response

Same-visit interpretation is performed by the veterinarian, with specialist radiologist review available upon request.
